Most brand collabs slap two logos on a dial and call it a day. Timex's Fender collection goes further. The flagship, the Fender x Timex Automatic 41mm, turns a Telecaster into a dive-style watch: a butterscotch-blonde wood-grain dial, a seconds hand shaped like a Telecaster headstock and the Fender logo on the crown. It is listed at $499 and marks, in Timex's words, 80 years of Fender and 75 years of the Telecaster.

The details that sell it
The dial is the obvious hook: a wood-grain print in the butterscotch blonde of an early Telecaster body. Look closer and the seconds hand ends in a tiny headstock. A two-tone unidirectional ratcheting top ring tracks elapsed time, and there is a date window at 3 o'clock, applied markers and luminous hands.
It is also a real watch underneath. The 41mm steel case is water resistant to 200 meters, the crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating, and the Miyota 8215 automatic movement is visible through an exhibition caseback marked with the Telecaster 75th Anniversary logo.

The strap
The black leather slip-thru strap is made by S.B. Foot Tanning Co. in Red Wing, Minnesota. It is a good choice for a watch meant to be worn on stage or at the bar rather than in the pool, even with 200m on the dial.

The catch: it is sold out
When we checked Timex's site on September 29, 2026, the automatic was sold out, and so was the listing at Uncrate Supply, which carried it too. Watch Timex's page for a restock.
The one you can still buy
The 37mm Fender x Timex is the Stratocaster side of the collection and it was in stock at $269. Its crown is modeled on a guitar tone knob, and the iridescent mother-of-pearl dial is a nod to the Stratocaster's Pearloid pickguard, under a domed acrylic crystal and on a brown S.B. Foot leather strap. At 37mm, it is the dressier, more versatile pick.

How to wear it
A wood-grain dial is loud, so let it be the only loud thing. The automatic looks best with denim, a plain tee or an overshirt, and brown or black boots; think off-duty musician, not stage costume. The black leather strap makes it easy to dress down, and the 41mm case with its two-tone bezel reads sporty, so skip it with a suit.
The 37mm is the opposite: small, pearly and a little dressy. It works under a shirt cuff and with a blazer, and at that size it suits slimmer wrists that a 41mm diver would swamp.
Who should buy it
