Most chronographs under $300 play it safe: round case, black dial, done. Tornado's Aristocrate does the opposite. It is a 42mm square case with a teal dial, a raspberry minute track, mustard and blue sub-dials and a tan rubber strap, at $255. This is our read of Tornado's product page and photos, not a wrist test.

What it is
The Aristocrate is Tornado's square-case line, and this is the Brown chronograph, SKU T26102-DRDN. Tornado calls the look "neo-classic" and "rugged". The case is solid 316L stainless steel with a sand-blasted texture and a scratch-resistant coating. In the product photos the finish reads as a matte gunmetal grey, with a bronze-toned crown that picks up the strap.
Design
The square silhouette is the hook. Think of a cushion shape with squared-off corners and chronograph pushers on the right side. The dial is where it gets bold: a deep teal base, a pinkish-red ring for the minute track, and sub-dials in gold and slate with colored hands. Applied indices and luminous hands keep it readable. It is closer in spirit to a 1970s racing watch than to a modern dive chronograph.

Who it is for
This is for the guy who already owns a safe field watch and wants something with a point of view. A 42mm square case wears large, so it suits average to larger wrists; Tornado's page lists only the 42mm size. The rubber strap and 10 ATM rating make it a casual, weekend and travel piece rather than a suit watch. Pair it with a plain tee or an overshirt and let the dial do the talking, the way the outfits in our business casual guide keep the rest quiet.
If you like Timex's quirky side, compare it with the Fender x Timex automatic at $499 or the Waterbury Heritage GMT. Tornado undercuts both.

The catch
Be honest about what the page leaves out. It names the Seiko VD54 but does not say whether that is quartz or mechanical, so ask Tornado if that matters to you. There is no bracelet option on this listing, only the rubber strap. The warranty is 3 years, but read Tornado's warranty service page for how claims work. And the dial is loud: if you want a quiet chronograph, Tornado also sells the Aristocrate in black, blue, green and khaki at $245 to $255.
