Monceau is a Swiss name from the 1950s that came back in 2025, and its second collection leans straight into old racing colours. The Model 01 GTS keeps the slim 39mm case of the original and swaps the dial for three bright, fumé-gradient designs taken from classic cars. This is our read of Monceau's own product pages, not a hands-on test.

The three dials

Each dial is a paint colour from a 1960s or '70s car. Verde Scandal is a lime green meant to recall the Lamborghini Miura. Tobacco Targa is a warm brown with cream segments, meant to recall a Porsche Targa. Irion Azure is the loud one: a blue fumé center ringed in orange, taken from the pre-Gulf livery on a 1967 Ford GT40 that finished sixth overall and won its class at the Daytona 24 Hours.

Case and movement

The case is 39mm sandblasted steel and only 8.4mm thick, which is slim for a watch rated to 100 meters. That thinness comes from the movement choice: a hand-wound Sellita SW210-1 in Elaboré grade, regulated in three positions and finished with rhodium-plated bridges and Côtes de Genève striping. Gear Patrol lists a 42-hour power reserve at 4Hz.

Strap or bracelet

You can pick an FKM rubber strap with quick-release end links or a faceted H-link steel bracelet, or buy both. On Monceau's own store the strap version is £769 and the bracelet £869. Gear Patrol converts those to roughly $1,041 and $1,176. The brand ships from the UK, so duties and taxes may apply on top.

The catch

This is a pre-order. Monceau says delivery is expected in January 2027 and the first run is capped at 150 pieces, so you are paying up front for a watch you will wear in the new year. A hand-wound movement also asks for a daily habit that some owners love and others skip.

Who it is for: the man who likes sports watches but wants something thinner and quirkier than the usual steel diver. If you are comparing, our best luxury dive watches shows the pricier end, our Timex Waterbury Heritage GMT piece covers a budget-friendly vintage look, and the Nivada Grenchen F77 story is another revived heritage brand. More in the watches hub and affordable luxury. Prices checked October 1, 2026 and may change.
